Competition

We have been very successful in the past in both tournament Kata and Kumite. Many of our members over the years and currently have successfully competed in the Queensland Karate team, competing at both a state and national level.

West Moreton Academy of Martial Arts is a member of the Queensland Karate Association (QKA), which is the Queensland branch of the Australian Karate Federation (AKF), which is the Australian branch of the World Karate Federation (WKF). Because of this we compete in competitions that are sanctioned by these bodies, therefore under the rulesets of these bodies, which are all governed by the rulesets of the WKF.

WKF tournaments involve competition in both kata and kumite.
